Power generation can mean nuclear, fossil fuel, thermal, and hydro. There are lubrication issues that are unique to some and others that are common in every facility.
One issue that is commonly found is steam. Steam valves can be found throughout the industry but are prevalent in thermal and nuclear generating facilities, especially electric motor operated steam valves, known as MOV. These are used to control the flow of high-pressure steam. Each has three areas of lubrication: the valve stem, the main gear box, and the limit switch gears. Frequently, the gear box has a weeping problem through the seals.
If you have a specific operating problem, contact us and we will provide you with the correct lubricant.

Generators
Most generators at power generation facilities are not used on a constant basis. Diesel fuel sits in the tanks causing algae to grow and water to dilute it. Then when the generator is started up, water and algae get into the engine causing it to either work very poorly or not work at all.
